the Beach Trust
The St
Francis Bay Beach
Trust was originally
formed in order to
raise the R 1.0
million funding
required to complete
the Beach
Investigation and
Design Phases.
For too long people
have been waiting
for a
“Fairy Godmother”
to appear and save
our beach. This is
not going to happen
and this far we have
received superb
support during Phase
1 and the data
collection and
feasibility study
report is now
complete.
The detailed design
phase is virtually
complete and
following successful
completion of
the referendum
process we believe
the process will be
able to continue.
In
addition, the
Estuary Survey and
completion of the
EIA process requires
additional funding
of around R 250k.
This brings the
total to the
original budget
estimate of
R1.2 million. The
Beach Trust are
raising the required
R120k funding for
the referendum and
are approaching
Our Supporters for
the additional
funding over and
above the original
budget of R 1.2 m.
The Kouga
Council have also
approved the formal
Agreement with the
SFB Beach Trust.
We have also
finalized the
project financing
for the
construction of
"St Francis
Reefs”
with a major
financial
institution.
